About MVFCI

The Military Veterans Family Care Initiative (MVFCI) is a non-partisan and non-governmental organization founded by Ms. Chidimma Ijele Chikwelu to cater for the welfare of the Nigerian Military Veterans.

Our Mission:

To serve our men and women who served, their families, and families of military men and women who died in active service.

Our Vision:

To create a better lifestyle for our veterans and their families.

Through assistance, awareness, and advocacy, MVFCI will provide opportunities and resources to veterans and their families in appreciation for their selfless service to the nation.

Who is Eligible for the MVFCI services?

The benefits are based upon honourable discharge from active military service and their families. Certain benefits extend to those in active service, especially those curbing insurgency.

Our Objectives

  • Empower unemployed veterans, their spouses, and children through skills acquisition and training. Connect them to organizations and individuals who may need their services.
  • Provide health care and mental health counseling and recreational activities for those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
  • Provide shelter and basic needs for the homeless orphans of veterans.
  • Offer guidance and counselling services for veterans, military spouses, and children who are affected by the death of their loved ones.
  • Provide basic education for the children of veterans and soldiers who are financially incapacitated. Scholarships to Tertiary Institutions will be made available to the exceptionally brilliant ones who can not afford tuition fees.
  • To cater to the needs of disabled veterans.
  • Help veterans re-acclimate to civilian life and get the benefits they are due.
  • Offer assistance to homeless veterans by advocating for affordable shelters and low-income housing.
